🚨 Heads up: we are not a small business funding source. We will not pay for business marketing expenses or fund your startup or general operational costs. Businesses are eligible to apply but should do so through the lens of helping to make NYC more awesome.

🗽 We are the New York City chapter of the Awesome Foundation and make $1,000 grants to fund projects in and around NYC. This city is bubbling with creativity and we are looking to fund unique projects that touch everything from tech to social to art to media to education.

⏰ Our application deadline is the last day of the month. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month to review the previous month's submissions. If your application is time-sensitive, please let us know in your application.

⚠️ Some tips for writing an awesome grant application:

  • Be local - tell us exactly how your project will make NYC a more awesome place
  • Be brief - we review a ton of applications each month
  • Be fun - you want your application to stand out from the pack
  • Be specific - how does a $1,000 move the needle for your project - show us that you've thought this thing through
  • Be yourself - please stop thinking that your proposal must be AI-written; we would rather read an imperfect proposal from a human than a finely crafted AI application that is devoid of real passion
