About Us

The Awesome Foundation is microphilanthropy in action. Ten people contribute $100 each to make $1000 available each month to fund awesomeness.

Since 2014, the Adelaide chapter has given around $120,000 to changemakers, creatives, community organisations and individuals who want to make a difference (even if it is just to bring joy to a group of people).

Let us know what you are planning, why it's awesome and how you plan to spend the money. This grant process is designed to be as simple as possible and there are no strings attached to receiving funding for individuals or organisations.

Applications for metropolitan Adelaide and surrounds are preferred, though grants have been awarded for regional projects. However, do not apply if you are based outside of South Australia (your application will be deleted). There are other Awesome Foundation chapters around the world.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to difficulties we have experienced with financial transactions, we are no longer accepting applications from people working in government-funded organisations, including schools.

We prioritise applications that need $1000 to happen, though we will sometimes consider requests for our gift being part of a larger project.

Be really specific with how you plan to spend the money, though please note we won't fund:

• marketing for established projects
• travel
• submissions that don't show how the money will be used.

We meet on the first Friday of each month to make decisions on applications we receive in the preceding month. Best of luck!
