San Antonio Girls Rock Camp

Our goal is establish a nonprofit program called San Antonio Girls Rock Camp among the Girls Rock Camp Alliance. Our program will be a week-long, day-camp for girls, genderfluid/nonbinary youth, and trans-youth, ages 11-14. In one week, campers will learn an instrument, form a band, then write and perform an original song, culminating in a showcase at the end of the week.
Aside from learning to play an instrument and writing a song, the campers will attend workshops aimed at creating a better sense of self. Workshops include: History of Women in Rock, Healthy Relationship / Communication Skills, Body Positivity, and Gender and Diversity.
The projection date for the launch of San Antonio Girls Rock Camp is Summer 2017.
