Pihuru community is located on Makira Island, Makira Ulawa Province, Solomon Islands. The community population is 400 which comprises of men, women youths and children.
The community have access to water supply however, proper sanitation is the community's biggest problem. Currently the community is using coastal seaside beaches as toilets. It is anticipated that once approval and funding is given, the community will use funds to built proper toilets using low cost pour flash system seeing that water supply access is already available in the community.
