A Propos
Learn about Awesome PGH and what we fund!
Awesome Pittsburgh mines the brilliance of our city's artists, inventors, designers, leaders, champions, and dreamers and funds projects that have both local impact and global resonance. We believe that Pittsburgh, with all of the resources and amenities that have driven us to the top of "Best city..." lists, can bring more awesomeness to communities in our region that have been overlooked as well as the global community. And we're willing to give $1,000 each month to the people who show us the best ways to do that.
So, what exactly are we looking for, you ask? Overall, we tend to focus on tangible projects that we can’t wait to see come to life. Specifically, we are looking for:
Wowness: Is it something we've never heard of before? Does it make us say, “Holy coleslaw-on-a-sandwich, that’s awesome!”?
Niceness: Would the idea make people happy or help people?
Usefulness: Will the Awesome microgrant make a real difference in getting the project off the ground in the near future?
Direct & local impact: Will this project directly benefit the Pittsburgh region or its residents? (The more the better!)
If you can say yes to all of these questions, we look forward to learning about your project! Keep scrolling to the big pink "Apply for a Grant" button below!
We are entirely volunteer-run and self-funded from the amazing Pittsburghers listed below! Do you want to help? Email us at awesomepgh@gmail.com.
You can find out more about the latest going-ons at Awesome Pittsburgh at our official website. We are also on X (formerly known as Twitter) @awesomepgh, Facebook @awesomepgh, and Instagram @awesomepgh.
