YVAC Education

The YVAC Education Fund is a youth-and student-led collective of artists, organizers, and mutual aid practitioners who gather year-round to listen deeply, meet basic needs, and create platforms for young people and their families to design their own solutions to the social issues they face.

They are relaunching the Neighbor2Neighbor Initiative in Pittsburgh, a mobile mutual aid and food distribution project that brings free groceries, essentials, and care directly into neighborhoods across the county.

Music, art, and youth creativity draw residents together during a pop up-event, while mutual aid ensures everyone leaves with what they need to thrive. This model strengthens neighborhood trust, supports youth leadership, and sparks collective problem-solving. Each pop-up event also creates safe, joyful spaces where youth, families, and neighbors connect through music, art, and community engagement. This model strengthens local networks, supports youth leadership, encourages neighborhood collaboration, and ensures residents can meet basic needs while building collective power and resilience.
