AIR SENSOR BETA TEST FOR SEATTLE PUBLIC SCHOOL

We want to see the invisible and report back to the world!

TOPS (The Option Program at the Seward School) is a Seattle public school with a social justice mission. We draw kids from all over to the city to participate in our learning community. This project will enable us to be a part of a the world's most exciting experiment in networked air quality monitoring. We will assemble and program the kit ourselves so that we can test the air over our campus.

Our device will measure airborne particulate matter in PM10, PM2.5 and PM1.0 sizes. (That's small!) We will be part of a network of sensors that monitor Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, Ozone and Methane. We’ll also be logging temperature and humidity for calibration purposes. We will install our device outside our school which happens to be RIGHT NEXT TO I-5.

Help empower kids to learn science by being a part a project that can have a big impact in the Seattle community.
