This isn't exactly a project but I had the privilege of seeing the awesome foundation provide funds to persons in need and I was hoping you would consider a client. We have a 16 year old who was brought to Canada from Afghanistan. She was brought here by an Aunt and Uncle who doctored documents to get her here. Once she arrived she was forced into sex trafficking. Police became involved due to a domestic incident but all parties suspected more. VSY met with the girl several times and learned the above. We were able to get her to disclose to the police where charges were laid. After disclosing to the police the Taliban killed her father (just last week she learned of his death and her mother is in hiding in Afghanistan). The client is now in hiding here but has nothing to her name. As she was "sponsored" by her Aunt and Uncle she is not eligible for government sponsored programs. This young girl has been through so much and all she wants is to be safe and "go to school" to learn and have a better life.
