BRASSIC.

BRASSIC. is a self published magazine, showcasing the richness of Northern culture and talent, based and operating in Liverpool.
The magazine focuses primarily on Northern cities and towns, covering topics of culture in these places, and underground creatives, with the intention to platform and spark conversation.
We want BRASSIC. to be able to open opportunities up for everyone involved; our features, interviewees, writers, photographers, and any other contributors we have, and to get people to know the talent in and around the North. With us only just starting, this has been primarily Liverpool based so far, and will continue like that whilst we grow our audience.
For each issue, we are also aiming to throw a launch party. These parties exhibit the work put into the magazine, such as work of our artist profiles, so people are able to get an idea of what is in the magazine if they can't afford the price (£15). With us being a magazine and not event/promoters, we aim to keep these launch parties free and accessible. These will continue to be in Liverpool, and also act as good networking events for other creatives.
As we are a publication that aspires to platform creatives, we also want to to do that through being able to pay our writers and photographers, as we understand when it comes to working on creative projects that these people often don't get paid (including us).
After our very successful Issue 01, where we were lucky enough to break even and reimburse ourselves after selling out, we were left with a small remainder to put into our second issue. With us both working in hospitality jobs, neither of us are in a financial position to not reimburse ourselves.
BRASSIC. is a project we want to continue with and see how far we can take it, but for us currently, the financial aspect is our biggest issue.
