Lifting Fog is a novel set in current day San Francisco. I am 82 years old and this is my first novel. There are two primary characters both female in their 20s who have ended up homeless by completely different paths and meet in the Tenderloin District. They help each other find their way (lifting the mental fog that can entrap us). It's not really a gritty tale although it addresses real issues (COVID, homelessness, suicide, addiction, grief, friendship, love, determination and inner strength) and explores the beautiful and damaged city of San Francisco. I hope to give readers an approachable insight into how people can find themselves in a situation that might seem hopeless but with help from generous and caring people can be a path of growth and strength.
