Hay Street Project

Tiny House Community Development, Inc., is a 501c3 non-profit organization that is a coalition of diverse individuals and local organizations whose goal is to reduce homelessness, by engaging in public and private partnerships to create a tiny home community. Working alongside people experiencing homelessness, our goal is to encourage positive community engagement and foster an educational experience in a welcoming environment.

We seek funding to support the construction costs of building our second tiny house community for the homeless on Hay Street, High Point, NC. We have successfully completed one tiny house homeless community in Greensboro, NC. The Hay St. project will consist of ten tiny homes which will provide permanent shelter, sustainable living for up to twenty people experiencing unstable housing situations, as well as providing educational and workforce development training to the individuals in the community. Each community has edible decorative vegetation as well as edible gardens. Should any individual residing in the community desire to step up to take care of chickens, then we also provide a chicken coop and the startup expenses so that the individuals in the community can have fresh eggs
Our organization does not want to just provide shelter for homeless individuals. We want to provide homeless individuals with hope, opportunity and a chance to get their lives back and become productive members of society and the community in which they reside. We provide as much as we can for anyone of the residents in the community to be able to achieve their dreams.
