YACCA is an environmental youth group targeting active kids in the community between the ages of 5 to 19, with members split into 3 groups based on age and knowledge. YACCA has 40+ members who are involved in community events and projects such as fauna monitoring at arid recovery, Reef watch, Trees for life revegetation project and currently working on a collaborative plan with the McLaren Vale Biodiversity are project to establish 1100 native plants within a significant wetland region.
Using five years worth of experience and knowledge the members of YACCA (Youth And Community in Conservation Action) are creating a comprehensive field ID for the Willunga Basin Region. The book will include photographs, sketches and notes written by the members. A field guide suitable for all ages, being an excellent start for beginners and a wonderful reference piece for experienced botanists living locally.
