Gourmet Symphony’s Taste Your Music Project

Gourmet Symphony is a nonprofit organization founded in 2014 with a mission to reimagine the classical music experience by presenting concert programs that creatively pair music, food, and drink. Each public event features a chamber or symphonic ensemble, a chef or culinary hotspot, and a winery, brewery, or distillery from the D.C.-area.The organization unites these local artists and artisans through a collaborative process, furthering appreciation of the classical arts by providing a viable alternative to the traditional concert.
We fulfill our mission through four main programs, including full-orchestra concerts, our Saloon Concert Series, and curatorial services. The fourth program titled, Taste Your Music, is where we request your support.

Gourmet Symphony recognizes the power of music to change lives for the better and make this a core part of its ongoing programming. In 2015, the organization launched a community outreach project called Taste Your Music, with support from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities. The project brings musical, educational, and therapeutic concert programs free-of-charge to local food and service organizations like So Others Might Eat. Taste Your Music explores the intersection of music, food, and fellowship—offering meaningful opportunities for D.C. residents-in-need to enjoy the classical arts and to benefit from them.

We hope you’ll support us in feeding the souls, and stomachs, of our neighbors-in-need.
