Digby Neck is already awesome, but more awesomeness is always a good thing! We need your innovative, and creative ideas to make the awesomeness spread from one end of Digby Neck to the other....Seabrook to East Ferry and everywhere in between!
Our Awesome Digby Neck Chapter is sponsored by the Digby Neck Collective, a registered non-profit whose vision is to make Digby Neck a purposeful, valued and connected community. It has already launched a number of projects, including The Schoolhouse Cafe, a Social Enterprise run by volunteers, the Digby Neck Festival, a free, annual festival held at Lake Midway held to celebrate all things Digby Neck, and Digby Neck Connections, our monthly free newsletter delivered to every mailbox on Digby Neck. In addition, the Collective sponsors a variety of workshops and social events held at the Café, on a regular basis throughout the year.
We are especially interested in smaller projects that make a big difference, and no idea is too small. Take a few minutes to look at some of the projects sponsored by other Nova Scotia Awesome Chapters to help get your creative juices flowing, and then, apply!
Some things we consider when reviewing applications: Is the project specific to Digby Neck? How critical are our funds to help the project move forward? Will our funds enable the project to be completed or will they be combined as part of a larger fundraising effort? How does the project impact local culture or identity?Does the project build infrastructure? Is the project time sensitive? Have you provided a detailed description of how you will use the funds? Have all necessary preliminaries been addressed (are there any permissions you need to have in place before the Project can be started? Proof is required. )
A successful project will be picked by the Board of the Digby Neck Collective twice a year. Filling out an application is all you need to do to sell your idea. So, get Awesome!
