Columbus has a new Awesome Foundation!
We are granting $1000 every other month, starting in May 2019, primarily to people in the Columbus Area. Next grants come out on the first week in July, September, and November. 2019.
We will read all proposals and invite the top choices to pitch it to us live, if possible. (Dates and location by agreement.)
Here's what we're looking for: We are especially interested in projects that bring people together, such as different age groups or cultures. We would love to see creative ways to boost pride in neighborhoods, bridge language or ability barriers, care for and enjoy our earth, distribute food and other goods to those who need assistance, help kids contribute to others, and so on. Tell us your creative, fun, and unusual ideas!
Please write a clear explanation of your idea, the goal, and how it fits in with our mission to help people help each other. Tell us what this chunk of money would do for you. Do a little homework and read about what other chapters have funded. Tell us about other projects you have done or what you have done to develop this idea so far. We don't require follow up reports but we'd love to have a few pictures, or a link to your website.
We probably won't fund your schooling, pay your bills, or even help start your business, as cool as it might be. But will your food truck frequent underserved neighborhoods and provide fresh alternatives? Will you give hair cuts to the elderly? Can you collect stories, or do artwork with people? Can you start a day care in your home that includes different cultures? Do you have a great spot for a community garden? Are you a kid with a great idea that could help bring joy to others?
We can't wait to hear from you. We're here to help.
