Madison 34 is a project created to have the 34 pillars of Southeast Madison (on ramp to the Hawthorne Bridge) painted by artists from the Portland area. This urban gallery will be created to inspire the community and to draw people to the Central Eastside Industrial Area. The Project will start at the first two pillars on Southeast Madison Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and end on Southeast Madison and Water Avenue. This project is to also include the set of stairs the lead up to the Hawthorne Bridge. This will be a perfect addition to East Creative’s First Friday Art Walk. Each pillar
and set of stairs will be coated with an anti-graffiti coating.
