Telescope Kits

I work for a public library. A few years ago we partnered with our local astronomy groups to loan telescopes to the public. We acquired 3 kits with a telescope, a star finder and an astronomy guide, packed them into a tote and have been lending to the public since December 2016. The astronomy groups maintain the kits and provide training. The kits are hugely popular. They steer kids to a STEM focus and they’re great for life-long learning. They circulate for 3 weeks. We have 50 reservations which translates to over a year wait to get the kit. If we had 3 more kits that wait time would be reduced to 3 months.
