I'm working on a project to let trees in the city measure pollution and reward people for keeping the air clean by giving free WiFi: Tree-WiFi! Each tree is outfitted with a sensor, cool lights that show the quality of the air, and when the air quality improves the tree gives the entire street Tree-WiFi. By showing pollution levels through the lungs of the city I want to raise local awareness for this issue. By giving people free WiFi and cool lights when the air quality improves I want to make taking the bike or public transport something that has a very clear advantage, and a street full of sparkling trees is really awesome, don't you think?
