Short Film - I Can Lift a Car Up All by Myself

I Can Lift a Car Up All by Myself is a short film about childhood lost, caused by domestic sexual assault. Jasmine, an 11-year-old girl, is raped by her own father and becomes pregnant, forcing her to confront the realities of adult decisions at a tender age.

The short film follows Jasmine on her journey from realisation to decision, and focuses on how she handles the many events circling her through the eyes of an 11-year-old.

We hope that by producing this short film, we will be able to spread the message of domestic sexual assault and statutory rape, that happens not only at the outside world but also at home, where it is meant to be safe and comfort. The short film will aim to reach other festivals both local and overseas.
