Take a Jit to Fish™ is a community-based youth program in Orlando that combines fishing, STEM education, and mentorship to create a positive and hands-on learning experience for kids.

We are applying for this grant to host a free community fishing event where youth can learn real-life science concepts like buoyancy, ecosystems, and water conservation while also developing patience, discipline, and confidence.

This event will serve 30–50 youth, many of whom come from underserved communities with limited access to outdoor learning opportunities. Through this experience, kids will not only learn how to fish, but also gain exposure to positive role models, teamwork, and new possibilities for their future.

Take a Jit to Fish™ is about more than fishing—it’s about giving kids a safe space, teaching life skills, and creating moments that can change the direction of their lives.
