NQPN

NQPN is a high-technological Lab-City located on a non-specified Ocean in a non – specified time. In parallel to an ongoing orchestra rehearsal in the central Dome, interdisciplinary research is conducted by an international team of scientists in the adjacent Domes called Institute for Extraterrestrial Natures. Besides experimental labs with globes, a collection of global migration routes and 3D models related to physical laws the Institute is composed by the Scientists cabins, a Reading Room and a Garden of Speculative Cosmology modeled in a tradition of Chinese garden. As the scientists gather information about the so called ZONES they are expected to create an Atmospheric Being based on collected data which would enable the creation of an artificial Sun. In another part NQPN City conducts research based on the testimony of the so called “Visitors”. The «Visitors » are individuals having had previous lives in the so called ZONES and are to sojourn in the atmospheric conditions of the Lab. They provide knowledge based on individual testimony and lived experience leading to a reconstruction of History through a mnemotechnic process. They take part in a cultural form of transmission of verbal immaterial knowledge. In a third part NQPN City hosts the called « Suppliers », Individuals ready to engage in a high-end technologically designed death experience through cryogenic preservation. As Individuals they have decided to take part in a form of Post-Humanity expecting their preserved brain data to become part of a Future society. Hazardous encounters between Suppliers, Visitors and Researchers soon create a dysfunctionality in the perceived space/time reality of the LAB with consequences to the LAB´s general mission. NQPN city/lab can be seen as a metaphor for liberté de conscience.
