The official mission statement of the Sandwich Club is “to foster an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and forward-thinking sandwich culture by encouraging the discovery and consumption of delicious sandwiches and sandwich components, both in the United States and abroad.”
On September 12, 2015, sandwich-lovers will convene in Wassaic, NY for the 4th Sandwich Club Summit to discuss the fields of sandwich making and sandwich studies. Presenters will cover diverse topics including epistemology, art history, and the potential hazards of excessive mayonnaise application. The event includes panels, discussions, interactive workshops, a sandwich-themed art exhibition and grilled cheese sandwiches. The Sandwich Club Summit creates a window through which to poke fun at the alienating language of business, politics, contemporary art and social science while also indulging in a shared pleasure.
AwesomeNYC is excited to support the work of the Sandwich Club and the work that they do to further the sandwich arts.
Registration for the Summit will open in July 2015, and more details can be found on the Sandwich Club website.
