Neurospicy SA Adult Socials

1 in 5 people are neurodivergent, meaning they have a condition such as Autism, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Anxiety, OCD, and/or many other mental conditions that make their brains operate differently than the norm. 20% of the global population is neurodivergent and struggles to belong in a world that is not tailored to them.

Neurospicy SA Adult Socials provide safe, supportive spaces for neurodivergent adults (ages 18+) to build friendships, reduce social isolation, and strengthen mental well-being through peer-led programs and community engagement.

We help those who want friends and connections meet others with similar struggles and strengths to bond, learn from each other, and feel safe in a welcoming space.

Some of the goals we hope to achieve with the Adult Socials:
1) Reduce social isolation among neurodivergent adults
2) Improve the social-emotional health of neurodivergent adults, which then leads to better mental and physical health.
3) Provide safe, comfortable spaces for neurodivergent individuals to be themselves without masking.
4) Host social and collaborative special events for connecting neurodivergent adults
5) Be a place where neurodivergent adults can belong.

During the socials, participants can:
1) Connect with peers who share lived experiences.
2) Join inclusive community activities that encourage belonging.
3) Build mutual support networks that nurture growth and confidence.
4) Celebrate neurodiversity in a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

We're a mid-sized meetup group right now, and have been hosting social events for a year now. We're in the planning stages of forming a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit.
