I am hoping to host a family night for the families of the students in my ELL (English Language Learners/Multi-language Learners) classes at DGF. I would like to host BINGO, serve food, have games, invite community organizations to share their resources, collaborative art, and more.
This event would be solely for the families of the students who are enrolled in the ELL program at DGF. This is about 25 students, but the total people invited would be over 70. Many of the students that I serve have large families, but not all of their siblings are in ELL. My plan is to have the students very involved in the planning process and use it as a way to teach new vocabulary, concepts, and skills.
I am hoping to host the event on a Saturday when we can have the best turn out. I know that many of the parents work night shifts, so a weeknight evening might not be the most accessible. I intend to reach out to parents for their input and availability as well.
