I teach an incredible group of 5th and 6th grade students in a REACH classroom—REACH stands for Relationship, Education, Accountability, Character, and Hard Work. My students have high academic and social-emotional needs, and we work every day to build not just knowledge, but confidence, resilience, and strong relationships.

One of the biggest challenges we face is making sure students have what they need to learn and thrive—and that includes both supplies and snacks. When students are hungry or worried about not having basic materials, it’s hard for them to focus or manage emotions. A simple snack can help calm frustration, boost energy, and improve their ability to stay engaged and regulated in class.

Unfortunately, our classroom never has enough supplies or snacks to last the whole year. That’s why I’m seeking support to provide pencils, notebooks, markers, and other essentials—along with healthy snacks that give my students the fuel they need to learn and grow emotionally.
