I want to create a mentorship program for youth that are transitioning from north Minneapolis high schools into college. I want to help mentor, prep, and identify resources and support for them as they transition from the community into college spaces. A lot of youth I have mentored over the years have struggled with leaving the familiarity of the support systems they have in north Minneapolis transition to different regions and I believe if there was a program set up for them to continue to feel connected and supported they would progress the same way they do when being in community.
