The Scout Loop, Trail

The idea behind the scout loop trail is to create a sign and blazing system for a trail loop already present in Georgetown rally State Forest. This loop could be used for every day activities like walking, biking, or maybe even cross country skiing. A map of the trail loop will also be uploaded online making it easy to navigate for everyone who uses it. Once signage is put up and blazes are painted, it will be one of the three trails systems in Georgetown rally that have a marking and signage system other than Pingree Farm Road and the Bay circuit trail. Signage will of a Colorcore sign at the entrance to the loop attached to a 4 x 4 x 2 wood post put into the forest floor. This sign will contain information about forks as well as distances, a map of the loop, and blaze colors. Blazes will be attached every few hundred feet as a means of navigating the trails and indicating directions that need to be heeded at forks.
