Algi is a food company started by two students with a shared passion for food and sustainability. Algi makes delicious, purpose-driven, plant-based food products centred around spirulina algae. Our mission is to make it seamless for consumers to eat sustainably.
Spirulina algae contains many essential nutrients, including protein, iron, and omegas, and it has a negligent resource demand, requires no arable land and it reuses 95% of water. It is the most nutrient-dense food on the planet, even more than meat or other animal products! We want to share algae as a food with the world and show consumers that plant-based eating can be just as delicious as eating a traditional diet, if not more!
Our first product is the IMPACT Bar, a plant-based, raw energy bar centered around spirulina algae. It offers 4 hours of sustaining energy, 12g of protein, and 23%DV iron. Currently, we have two flavours of the bar, Sunflower Seed & Sea Salt, and Cocoa & Cacao Nibs, that are ready to be launched in the next month.
