Harvesting Narratives on the Water

Potter, Yvonne Shortt, and her crew will travel by homemade raft down the Hudson River collecting clay from the riverbed as they go. Harvesting Narratives on the Water will do just that - from the clay, Yvonne will make large-scale, narrative-driven afro picks.

The project begins with the construction of the floating clay studio and ends where the East River meets the Harlem at Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens. Once there the sculptures will form a hair sanctuary. You can visit the sanctuary during the last two weeks of September.
