GetMePPEChicago

GetMePPEChicago is a group of medical students and college students working together to make Chicago safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We began our operations at the end of March 2020. Since this time, we have successfully donated more than 500,000 units of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as face masks, face shields, and gloves, cleaning supplies, and hand sanitizer.

Our focus is on vulnerable populations, specifically our elderly, incarcerated, and homeless community members. We believe that safety during COVID19 is a right, not a privilege. Donations of PPE are prioritized for homeless shelters, halfway houses, and nursing homes.

We are particularly concerned about homelessness and the upcoming winter. Homeless shelters are already pushed to their capacity in the city, yet the city's budget for shelter PPE is $0. As it stands right now, our group is the only reliable supplier for PPE in Chicago's homeless shelters.
