2020 TransGiving Holiday Celebration

AwesomeNYC is proud to support The Brooklyn G.H.O.S.T. Project's 2020 TransGiving celebration, a grab-and-go (COVID-friendly) classic southern buffet-style holiday meal with all the trimmings, and a simultaneous TransGiving-on-Wheels program to provide home cooked holiday meals to those black and brown trans and non-binary folks who need a home cooked holiday meal but have elected to stay home and stay safe because of the health risk.

TransGiving will be held on November 21st from 2 PM - 6 PM at the Brooklyn Community Pride Center at 1360 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY.

So what does TransGiving look like during a pandemic? Well...

Attendees will stand in a social distance friendly line that will operate like a conveyor belt from start to finish. Beginning with a sign-in at the “Greeting Station” where participants can receive information about various TGNC related subjects such as Non-binary Experiences in Color, Supportive Trans-Health Options, and Gender Affirming Surgeries.

Following this, participants will continue down the service line where they can pick and choose from a southern holiday spread fit for a royal family.

At the third stop along the conveyor line set up, partakers will pick up a care package (first come first serve) or gift bag filled with fabulous donations from our sponsoring organizations.

Lastly, all participants will have a chance to star in their own photoshoot in front of the step and repeat on the way out!
