The Lottery

The Lottery is an interactive art show about immigration, focusing on 3 stories: my personal journey to the United States and what my family gained and lost as a result, how millions of families will face similar hardships due to new policies targeting working class immigrants, and how you can join DC activists who are fighting back.

The Lottery is the culmination of my 3 month residency at Hole in the Sky as the third Derek Lieu Residency Program Artist. The Lottery is up for one night and one day. The opening reception is Saturday night, Nov 9, and my Artist Talk & Community Organizing Panel is on Sunday afternoon, Nov 10.

This show is personal. This show is a warning. This show is a guide to action. Visitors will learn about 6 steps they can take to stand in solidarity with immigrants in the DC area.

The Lottery features performances from local musicians Kelly Servick, Brenna Muller, and Rosie Cima, as well as a story collection experience designed in collaboration with the DC chapter of Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC.
