We are in the process of restoring the “small fish shack” at Lanes Cove. The restoration is being done by the Lanes Cove Historical Associated along with a number of neighbors and the City of Gloucester. The project is being done entirely by volunteers with donated materials. After completion we intend to open a pocket museum that pays tribute to the fishing and granite history of the cove.
The museum will be / is city owned. Volunteers from the Lanes Cove Historical Association will open the shack on summer weekend days and allow visitor to Lanes Cove Pocket Museum free access to the shack.
Our goal is to preserve the rich and colorful history of the cove that is fast disappearing.
