WaterWalkers

WaterWalkers” is a community-based mini-initiative that introduces underserved youth to water conservation and personal development through hands-on water education and guided weekend shoreline walks.
This innovative program combines physical activity walking alongside Nairobi river, environmental learning (on-site water quality demos and clean-ups), and youth mentorship. It is designed to build knowledge, confidence, and care for our most precious resource — water.
It’s simple but powerful: Walking a river trail with a guide and peers, picking up trash, testing water quality, and talking about life.
It connects people, nature, and purpose: Youth connect with their environment and learn the importance of clean water, teamwork, leadership, and responsibility.
It’s fun and educational: We blend STEM learning (water pH testing, litter tracking) with creative expression (journals, art from reclaimed waste).
It will benefit 30–50 local youth (ages 10–17) from underserved neighborhoods
