Treecup Tea

I am the founder of Treecup Tea. We are an organic tea startup based in the Greater Pittsbugh Area. I started the company with my mother almost two years ago as a Sophomore in college. We manufacture six unique flavors of tea and distribute to different mom and pop shops in Pittsburgh and Butler. The flavors are Peruvian Chai (my grandmother's recipe), Berry Jasmine, Lemon Ginseng Green, Gyokuro Matcha, Peach Tumeric, and Lumberjack Black. So far, we have sold over 10,000 bottles in Western PA.
The coolest part about our tea is the fact that we fund the planting of a tree in the 80% deforested country of Haiti for EVERY bottle consumers purchase. As such, we have successfully funded over 10,000 tree saplings in the Artibonite Valley through our partnership with Haiti Friends, a 501c3 non-profit based in Pittsburgh.
Our team has spent all of 2019 rebranding from our previous name Te Amo (buyateaplantatree.com) to Treecup. It has been more expensive than forecasted, but we've been good stewards of our funds and pulled off the rebranding with a tight budget. Our new brand is looking very professional, and soon we'll roll out Treecup Tea - Pittsburgh's eco-friendly iced tea - to many Pittsburgh retailers!
At a high-level, my vision for Treecup is to provide a philanthropic purchasing decision in the ready-to-drink beverage space with national distribution. This is innovative because this "one-for-one" social/environmental venture has never been applied to a beverage. Food & beverage has the highest repurchase rate out of any industry, thus the highest potential for reaching our goal of reforesting Haiti in its entirety.
Treecup will be successful because it is a product designed with current market trends in mind. These trends include that of environmental/social impact, organic/ethically sourced ingredients, local production in small batches, and we even use biodegradable plastic bottles!
