Over Ons
Boston — we’re back! After a three-year post-COVID slumber, the founding chapter of The Awesome Foundation is flipping the switch and getting ready to fund unconventional and awesome ideas again.
We’re gearing up for an awesomely active 2026, rebooting our all-volunteer micro-philanthropy crew to award monthly $1,000 microgrants — no strings, no fine print, just pure community magic.
🔥 We’re looking for:
Microtrustees (a.k.a. co-conspirators) Chip in $100/month to fuel $1,000 microgrants that launch one awesome idea after another. (Low lift, high fun, maximum impact.)
Volunteer Dean(s) Help run the machine instead of contributing monthly funds. We’re seeking a few behind-the-scenes heroes to help with grant coordination, outreach, social media, and event planning. (Think cat-herding, but the cats are extremely excited about whimsy-meets-impact-centered projects.)
Microgrant Applicants (yes, you!) Got an idea that’s weird, brilliant, joyful, or oddly necessary? Think:
**A disco-ball GoPro that studies pigeon migration? #Sure *A pop-up tool library inside a laundromat? #WhyNot **A robot that high-fives strangers and offers free palm readings? #YesPls
If it sparks delight, strengthens community and/or includes dinosaurs, we want to hear about it.
