Mulino Umano (Human Watermill)

Mulino Umano is a site responsive project that imagines the human body as a living water mill, an organism that both receives and generates energy through its encounter with the rivers and streams of Molise, Italy.

I plan to create a wearable sculptural structure inspired by traditional water mills, built with lightweight and eco conscious materials. This human mill is activated directly in water. The performer enters or approaches the river, and through circular and repetitive movements, the body becomes a rotating turbine.

The project weaves together performance art, the body as a rotating and responsive mill, wearable sculpture, a structure that transforms the performer into a human turbine.
