This June, AFRI is supporting The Poetry Pour's inaugural PVD Poetry Crawl, set for September 2026. Their plan is for a month-long, city-wide event that turns 22 local businesses into temporary galleries for the written word.

20 poets each contribute 1 poem which is then printed in full inside a "Poetry Shot,” a free, pocket-sized zine installed at said businesses. Patrons pick up a "Poetry Shot" with their drink at the bar or their latte at the counter; on the back is a QR code they scan to visit a dedicated landing page to learn more. about the artists. Participating small businesses will be identified by the poets themselves.

The whole thing gets more people reading poetry, aware of local poets and locally owned businesses, and serves as a point of entry for an ongoing poetry-focused newsletter.
