Disability Victory

Disability Victory is a 501(c)4 organization building the political power of disabled progressives through training, networking, and leadership development. We envision a country where disabled people have the information, support, and skills they need to successfully lead as candidates, elected officials, and campaign staff. We will accomplish this through three core tracks of work. The first is the Disability Victory Academy, which is an accessible campaign training program led by organizers, consultants, and elected officials who can speak to the unique challenges and barriers that disabled leaders face in the campaign environment. Secondly, as accessibility and disability inclusion subject matter experts, we will assist other training and political advocacy organizations in becoming more accessible and inclusive. Our third goal is to connect disabled leaders with each other to find mentorship and support, and connect other organizations with disabled candidates, elected officials, organizers, activists, and advocates to make their programming more inclusive.

Through Disability Victory, we work to center the experiences and needs of multiply marginalized disabled people, especially BIPOC disabled people and disabled people of marginalized genders. We ensure that this is reflected in the speakers, trainers, and organizers we hire and compensate to lead our campaign training programming.

What our grantee is saying: "Disability Victory is honored to be a recipient of the Awesome Disability ’s June award our organization was built on the foundation of connecting the disability community directly to the electoral process and most importantly training a pipeline of disabled candidates ready to serve their communities. With this critical funding from the Awesome Foundation, Disability Victory will be able to continue our vital work across the country."

What our trustees are saying: "I voted for Disability Victory because I really believe in the work they are doing, building capacity for disabled political candidates."
