Supporting Learning Through Play

Our community-based, not-for-profit preschool has been educating and caring for local children since 1963, proudly supporting families in our community for over 60 years. Managed by the community for the community, all fees and funding are reinvested directly back into our services to support children’s learning, wellbeing, and development.
We are seeking support through this microgrant to replenish and update toys, play materials, and learning resources used across our preschool environment. High-quality play materials are essential in early childhood education, as children learn best through hands-on experiences, exploration, creativity, and play.
Over time, frequently used resources become worn, incomplete, or no longer meet the needs of the children in our care. Updating these materials ensures children continue to have access to safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate resources that support their learning and development.
New resources will strengthen our flexible learning environments and support our curriculum focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). Materials such as dramatic play items, construction resources, sensory materials, fine motor activities, and open-ended learning tools help children develop problem-solving skills, creativity, collaboration, and confidence.
Our service is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education through qualified teachers and educators, and we continually strive to operate above required staff ratios to best support children’s individual learning and development. We cater for a wide range of ages from birth through to school entry, supporting children during the most important years of their development.
Funding will allow us to continue creating rich, engaging learning environments where children feel supported to explore, learn, and thrive.
