Friends of New York City Nurse Family Partnership is frequently labeled described as "awesome". We are all about leveling the playing field for babies born into impoverished families in New York City's poorest neighborhoods. We do this by raising additional funds for the nationally renowned Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) program here in New York. The program improves birth outcomes and child development for people of color by matching first time low income mothers them with their own personal nurses who visits them from pregnancy until their child is age 2 to guide, mentor and encourage them so that their babies thrive.

NFP nurses dramatically improve pregnancy outcomes, child development and parenting through creating a trusting, long term bond with participants that enables their advice, referrals and encouragement to be well received and acted upon. The nurses are non-judgemental, very well-informed and often a single caring adult for women who find themselves scared and unprotected at this incredibly important moment in their lives.
