Rhythm Jumpers: A Skipping Party

May’s Awesome Ottawa award goes to Zara Ansar and Ryan Mason to support a giant skipping party.

“We want to gather everyone in Ottawa to attend the most epic double dutch skipping party there ever was,” says Zara. “There will be awesome music, popsicles, and tons of ropes for everyone to join in on the fun — think 80’s street party with lots of colour and lots of great 80’s and 90’s hits blaring.”

The party will be free and open to all. “The goal,” Zara explains, “is to allow people to try something different or remember something they used to do as children.” It will take place June 3rd at Landsdowne Park as part of 100In1Day, a global initiative with the goal to inspire change in cities through innovative urban interventions.

Zara is a videographer by day and bicycle style blogger and event planner by night. Ryan is a manager at Lush and a local and international volunteer.
