Our Mission

Disability Community for Democracy, Inc. is a peer-run disability grassroots organization in the United States dedicated to preserving, protecting, and defending liberal democracy and our civil rights, no matter who is in power at the local, state, and federal levels.

Our Vision

Disability Community for Democracy, Inc. is committed to ensuring that disabled Americans, who comprise close to 30% of the population, are seen, heard, included, elevated, and given a seat at the table. In addition, we aim towards proportionate representation in politics, government, society, and other spheres.

What our grantee is saying: Disability Community for Democracy, Inc. celebrated its inaugural anniversary on December 2nd. Following the 2024 election cycle, I knew that the Current Occupant of the White House and his co-conspirators posed a threat to the disability community. This realization motivated the establishment of Disability Community for Democracy, Inc., to emphasize safeguarding the rights of individuals within the disability community and to offer a platform for political engagement rooted in intersectional disability liberation. As the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Disability Community for Democracy, Inc., I am aware that our efforts over the past year have been impactful, especially given our status as a new organization; however, receiving this grant signifies the recognition of our impact. The Awesome Disability Award represents the inaugural grant awarded to Disability Community for Democracy, Inc. This financial support will amplify our civic engagement initiatives by enhancing our messaging and refining our website.
