Neuro Fitness Foundation: Community Bowling Event

At Neuro Fitness Foundation (NFF) we aim to do fundraising events in order to ensure we do not have to raise the gym fees for our members who have a range of neurological diseases and are generally low income. Our long term goal is to have an active fundraising stream that will make the gym free again for members since we had to start charging with reduced membership during and following COVID. One flagship event we host annually is our bowling event. This event aims to bring together members from our gym and community partners such as university student interns and physical therapy clinic staff in a fun filled afternoon of sport. This event is great because it is adaptable to the varying abilities of the NFF members and we try to have any many participate as possible. Cost is often a barrier to members forming groups so our proposal is focused on obtaining fund to sponsor teams of members from the NFF community. This will help them to engage in the event for fun and community building.

What our grantee is saying: “We sincerely appreciate the grant from Awesome Disability. Your support makes it possible for us to sponsor a fun-filled day of bowling, providing our members with a meaningful opportunity to connect, socialize, and enjoy quality time with family, friends, and fellow members.
This event holds special significance, offering some participants a rare chance to engage with the community and stay active. For over 27 years, the Neuro Fitness Foundation has been dedicated to fostering vital social connections, strengthening community bonds, and promoting the health and well-being of our members, their families, and caregivers. Your generosity directly helps us advance our mission of supporting their physical and mental health.”
