Urban Garden: A Community Oasis in Yerevan

We’re turning an abandoned concrete pool in a residential courtyard in Yerevan, Armenia, into a vibrant urban eco-garden — a green space designed by and for the community.
Instead of a lifeless concrete structure, we imagine raised vegetable beds, vertical greenery, and soft garden paths. There will be a children’s garden where kids can grow their first carrots, a herbal tea corner for elderly neighbors to enjoy local mint and thyme, and a compost zone that teaches zero-waste habits.
This isn’t just a garden — it’s a community project that brings people together, encourages sustainable living, and shows how underused urban spaces can be transformed into something joyful, healing, and alive. It’s also a pilot project that, if successful, can be replicated in other courtyards across Yerevan.
The design is simple, eco-friendly, and co-created with local residents. We’ll use affordable, sustainable materials and contribute volunteer time to bring it to life. This space will grow not just plants — but community, connection, and pride.
