I have provided clothing, bedding and toiletries to the rough sleepers of Woolloomooloo every Sunday for the last nine years. I also assist Diva charities monthly at Lexington Place. They do the food, I provide the clothes for the community.

Over the years, I realised these men (and often women) were being released to rough sleep with literally nothing. Now, I pack Wellness Bags, and provide them directly to Long Bay jail for the men who are being released to rough sleep.

A bag includes a few changes of clothes, socks, undies, toiletries, a yoga mat, towel, sleeping bag, pillow, beanie and footwear. I remain sustainable by collecting and washing donations and collecting jackets from the City 2 Surf start line.

I have been told today that my donated storage space is no longer available.

This will make our city more awesome by giving the most vulnerable people of Sydney some dignity so they slide into society with decent clothing.
