From April - May 2026, Trans Art Fest will present two months of community powered art programming: 11 all-trans art exhibitions and over 20 events and counting across NYC. It is the first year of the festival, a grassroots initiative entirely volunteer run by trans artists, organizers, and allies. At this critical moment of dual visibility and attack, Trans Art Fest works to celebrate trans art and to support, connect, and empower trans artists, strengthening community both within and beyond the art world.

The AwesomeNYC grant will go toward supporting two of the events in the Fest: Sketchy Queers - a figure drawing workshop by and for the LGBTQ community, and Basketdolls - In Transition - a one day outdoors exhibition and basketball game.
