Zine Dump - A New Toronto Zine Fair

Zine Dump is a new Toronto zine fair, organized by seven Toronto zinesters and librarians. The fair was founded in the wake of the end of Broken Pencil Magazine and its annual fair Canzine. While ZD cannot replace Canzine, it's our hope that it will fill some of the void left by BP and become its own annual event.

The debut event will take place Sunday November 9 from 12-5pm at the Cecil Community Centre; our first fair will welcome 50+ exhibitors and also include a free-to-join zine making zone. Other initiatives include the Community Table, where anyone who we were not able to give an exhibitor table to (due to space limitations), or who does not want a whole table can submit five copies of one $5 zine and that we will sell on everyone's behalf. As well, we are producing a Collective Zine that will feature contributions from exhibitors and will only be available at the fair.

All of these initiatives are geared towards building and strengthening Ontario's independent arts zine scene. In that vein, we recently hosted a zine making session in partnership with U of T's Zine Club, where 20 zinesters came together to make zines and talk shop. We are always looking for ways we can expand our community building and ways we can champion zine culture. We love zines and zine culture!
