Second Saturday

Watsonville Second Saturday is a new monthly community arts event that began in July 2025. On the second Saturday of every month, Historic Downtown Watsonville transforms into a vibrant celebration of creativity, culture, and community. The streets come alive with live performances, local art, youth showcases, hands-on activities, and delicious food that reflect the heart of our community.

This project was created to make art accessible to everyone while supporting local artists, youth, and small businesses. Each event provides an opportunity for residents to engage in art-making, experience live performances, and foster community through shared creativity.

Watsonville Second Saturday is led by Community Arts & Empowerment in collaboration with Pajaro Valley Arts, the Watsonville Public Library, the Watsonville Youth Center, and a growing network of local artists and community groups who bring new ideas, performances, and workshops each month. These partnerships ensure that every event is inclusive, bilingual, and family-friendly.

Although the program is still in its early stages, it has already started building excitement and pride in Watsonville’s downtown. Our long-term vision is to grow this event into a cornerstone of cultural life in the Pajaro Valley, uplifting creativity, strengthening community ties, and celebrating the diversity that makes Santa Cruz County so unique.
