100 Resumes in One Day

We are happy to announce that our August grant has been awarded to 100 Resumes in One Day: Latino Power 5-Hour, a free event happening in Queens this October during Hispanic Heritage Month. In just five hours, 100 Latino immigrant professionals will receive hands-on support to build a U.S.-ready résumé, guided by bilingual facilitators including a recruiter, AI résumé expert, and career coach.

This event was born from the heart, powered by the belief that professional migrants deserve second chances and that skills can be transferred, re-valued, and celebrated. It was founded by Ximena Velez, a Colombian professional who arrived in New York ten years ago, unsure of where to begin. Today, she works in communications and leads Latinos United for Career Advancement, a platform that helps others to reconnect with their professional identities.

In Ximena's own words: "100 Resumes in One Day is more than a workshop — it’s a movement to remind Latino professionals that they don’t start from scratch, they start with experience. I believe immigrant professionals deserve the chance to contribute to their new home — not just to survive, but to live fully, through their vocations, careers, and callings."
